Episode-III

So my 1st& 2nd Forms were in Kuthuparambu.

when Daddy retd from there, the Doctor who took over from him was one Dr Sahadevan[ he was actually the son of a colleague of daddy, Dr Govindan.
He was a very very god & personally brave Dr!!
His wife was a short lady hardly 4'6" & their First baby was due when he took over the Hospl from daddy.
It so hppened that she had an obstructed labour due to CPD[ cephalo pelvic dispropotion]

& in desperation, Dr Sahadevn just did a classical Caesarean section!!
he took the baby out alive!!but then, he did not know how to suture up back the organs.!!

while he did the oprn, he sent a car to daddy to tellicherry which ws abt 8mles from there, asking him to urgrntly go over to him for the oprn!! & by the time the baby was out & the placenta was being tackled Daddy managed to reach there!! & he completed the oprn w/ o any complications!!
well, This Dr Sahadevan was later to have been My professor of medicine ,in the Med college!!& when he came to know abt me he was so happy that he was through out the course a great help to me. his younger sister Usha was also my class mate. how strage are the ways of fate!!

Though Daddy officially was aphysician, & a chest splt, he was very famous as an obstetrician.!!All the younger Drs used to call him in cases of such emergencies& he never failed them.
another event that occured while we were inKuthuparambu, was Daddy's altercation w/ the Dist Judge.
the year was 1951& daddy had often to attend the court as expert witness in cases of various autopsies. Daddy was suffering from some type of eczema in his fingers& couldnt even button his trousers properly. So he optd to wear Mundu& shirt w/ a coat. The judge said that he was doing contempt of court by dressing thus& was about to fine him. Daddy was given the opportunity to defend himself.so daddy said that his dress was was very much indian in origin& since India was by then an Independent state should not still be in the shackles of British tradition& told him that its his conviction that he has Not done anything wrong.The judge was completely stunned & couldnt do anything aftr that!!
I blv the whole episode was a big news in papers, for quite some days.!!

In1952, my last Birthday w/ Daddy on the 22Nov.i used to suck my lower lip whenever i went to sleep. & daddy told me that if i stop doing that he will get me abig Doll for my Bday. & propmptly after that i stopped sucking my lips!!Daddy bought me aBig doll which was almost3' in ht& could open & close her eyes& ws soo sweet. i had that doll till i passed from the med college& even after. I think it wasMridu who finally inherited it & lost it:(
Daddy was always my hero & the real role model for me. I never saw another person so kind , considerate& loving like him. His moto always was " You stand on the other person's shoes & then u will know the real pinch'".
when ever i found people whi could not understand other's pains, i missed him. the feeling got abted when i had my little boy who turned out to be just like my daddy, bless him!!Daddy never ever held a grudge& forgave ppl promptly & even helped everyone who was most offensive to wards him.what akind soul he was. even to this day, i miss him.
